KCP was a cost-effective way to study Japanese in Japan.

Adam from 2014

I found the daily kanji quizzes to be helpful in learning kanji, since they forced me to actively study the kanji every day rather than just for a large test.

Everyone at KCP is very welcoming!

Savannah from 2014

Don’t be discouraged. It is a bit fast moving, but there are chances to take tests over, and I advise you to choose your time to study well.

This school is great.

Alberto from 2014

Pair work has been the most helpful for me as within these interactions I can see my Japanese that I just learned come to life as it enters another persons ear and triggers the desired response. To me that is truly speaking a language.

Don’t be scared to step out of your comfort zone! It’s going to be scary at first but you can do it!

Try to make the most of your time here!

Sabrina from 2014

Make sure you’re responsible with your schoolwork, but also make time for new experiences and fun things that your home country doesn’t have. Practice speaking every chance you get; be friendly and open-minded and willing to try new things, and I think that you’ll have a really wonderful time, even if your time is short!

Riyoko from 2014

Also I think part of the strong foundation that KCP has given me comes from how fine tuned the teachers are. They pick on every slight mistake you make which really helped for me.

Kaiwa practice was useful.

Vinh from 2014

Always try to volunteer for Kaiwa during class. Even though its embarrassing, you will remember words and sentence structure better. If you stay quiet in class all the time, you will probably struggle. Senseis are very nice so go to them for help if you need it.

Testimonials

I found tests to be a good indicator of where I was at over homework. The homework only covered one topic usually, but tests would cover a wider variety of them mixed around. I’ve never studied Japanese from a textbook in this style, so the textbooks have been extremely helpful in visualizing Japanese grammar points.
