Pair work is extremely helpful because everybody has different conversation styles and knows different words so it’s a constant improvement.

Make lots of new friends and utilize your time in Japan to become as familiar with the culture as you can and have new and exciting experiences every day.

For grammar, hearing explanations in class was most helpful. Otherwise, the kanji textbook was very helpful for self-study at home.

The most productive thing was the full immersion of speaking mostly Japanese. It definitely skyrocketed the amount of progress I took in learning the language.

The most productive aspects of this program were Kato Sensei’s English support classes. I enjoy her class and find her to be an excellent teacher.

If you’re in the English program, attend EVERY English support class, Kato-Sensei is so helpful, and can easily clear up any confusion you may have in class.

It was a perfect mix between learning Japanese and its culture as well.

Don’t let the fast pace intimidate you. As long as you keep trying, your Japanese abilities will improve faster than you thought possible.

I really like how the teachers push students to constantly improve their Japanese by placing them above their comfort zone level.

I think the teachers were all wonderful and I enjoyed class time quite a bit, especially the sections with more hands-on practice in conversation.
