It was nice to be able to see Japan outside of Tokyo as well as learn about history.
Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
The weekend culture class activities were the most enjoyable. It was nice to be able to see Japan outside of Tokyo as well as learn about history. I found the short video on "Through Nobu's Eyes" to be an extremely touching experience. Even though it was sad, I am glad to have watched it.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Kato Sensei's English support worksheets were the most helpful in every aspect.
What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?
The safety learning center was the most valuable in my opinion. While not as exciting as somewhere like Kamakura, it was incredible to watch the documentary of a great earthquake.
Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?
Ensure you allow yourself time to study outside of class, or you will struggle. Once you fall behind, it's hard to catch up.
