Kiran from Fall 2024

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The high school exchange event was very interesting and it was very fun to talk to high schoolers and see what they were interested in about the outside world.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I appreciate the unique extracurricular opportunities and activities. Don’t think I really have a least interesting or productive aspect to mention.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I find tests and the teacher explaining the textbook to the best methods of learning.

Any suggestions for improving class activities or materials?

It would be nice to have some more tests or homework in the upper levels just for the sake of more practice.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Study, study, study! Put studying first, take it seriously, and you’ll find that you’ll still have time to enjoy Japan. If you dilly dally and don’t utilize your time, your studying and free time will both be affected negatively. This is an amazing opportunity, be sure to utilize it!

Testimonials

KCP is a wonderful program for those looking to, 1) see their Japanese abilities exponentially grow, and 2) to experience the culture hands-on. It’s also a program for those who don’t simply seek to party either. The program’s rigorous and demands attention to your school work, health, and managing time in between. Basically, you live, eat, and breathe a Japanese lifestyle. It’s great.
