Just hanging out on the second floor where I’m able to talk with students and teachers, work out problems and even help other students was very productive and interesting.

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The bbq was a nice opportunity to interact with everyone without the the academic environment.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Just hanging out on the second floor where I’m able to talk with students and teachers, work out problems and even help other students was very productive and interesting. I can’t think of anything that wasn’t super interesting or productive.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

In any case where a new grammar point was used and explained by the teacher in class, it would often stick. Then as teachers use these new points outside of class in conversation, these new points usually lock in quite strongly.

Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?

I liked finding friends in the dorm to walk home or grab dinner with.

What dorm did you live in or host family did you live with?

Ikebukuro Dorm

Testimonials

KCP is a wonderful program for those looking to, 1) see their Japanese abilities exponentially grow, and 2) to experience the culture hands-on. It’s also a program for those who don’t simply seek to party either. The program’s rigorous and demands attention to your school work, health, and managing time in between. Basically, you live, eat, and breathe a Japanese lifestyle. It’s great.
