2 Fascinating Female Anime Characters

Japanese anime one of the most popular art forms that include many types of genres from cinema and at times, even defining its own artistic field. The methods and techniques were further developed through the years alongside technological breakthroughs in animation. Anime usually focuses on a story combined with graphic art, cinematography and characterization. Less emphasis is placed on movement and more on the realism of setting and the use of camera effects.

The Japanese anime industry is made up of more than 430 production studios and with English-dubbed programming, Japanese anime has captivated the international audiences as well.

Manga comic strip

Ghibli’s animated films are loved by people of all ages, and the anime/manga influence on the Japanese and on global culture can be seen in the growing demand for collectibles and other merchandise. Women in particular swoon over the male Ghibli characters and think of them as the ideal leading men in real life. But there are women characters that are just as compelling and swoon worthy. Check them out!

Nana (ナナ)  – is a manga series written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa. The title of the series is derived from the name of two main characters, both of whom are named Nana, Nana komatsu and Nana Osaki. The former is small town girl who goes to Tokyo to follow her boyfriend and college friends hoping to live her dreams. The latter is a popular punk rock band member who travels to Tokyo in the hopes of making it big as a singer. The two Nana’s meet on the train ride to the city and later bump into each other again when checking out the same apartment for rent. The two girls decide to become roommates and the series is about their friendship and adventures as they live out their dreams.

Anime drawing

The animated adaptation of Nana was produced by Nippon Televisionm VAP, Shueisha and Madhouse, directed by Morio Asaka with Tomoko Konparu handling the series composition. Anna Tsuchiya and Olivia Lufkin provides the singing voice of Nana Osaki. The series is about their friendship and adventures as they live out their dreams.

Hinata Hyuga (日向 ヒナタ) – is a fictional character in the anime and manga Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. The character of Hinata began as a shy and awkward young girl with a big crush on the Naruto. She was initially thought of as useless princess of the Hyuga clan. Hinata had the determination and inspiration to improve her character by watching her friends thrive. She soon followed suit by becoming a formidable ninja with a very touching and inspiring backstory.
